Plan your year with the perfect gift – Prize Giveaway #1

It’s an exciting day for me. Not only is it my first ever giveaway, it’s for the perfect prize!

Despite my love for gadgets and having my laptop synched to my phone to remind me wherever I am that I’m late for something, I still love to carry about with me a good old fashioned diary and notebook.

There’s something about the feel of fresh clean paper and writing important events down in a diary that just makes me feel organised and prepared. I can spend hours browsing journals, diaries and general stationery deciding just what I need.

Finding the perfect planner at the eve of a new year can be a task in itself. It has to look right and it needs the layout to be just suited for my kind of life. I need sections for remembering school events and dentist appointments. I also need to room to note work deadlines and important meetings. Choosing next years diary cannot be rushed.

Luckily the people at have come up with a way to make a planner that is perfect, just for me – well, and for you too. It’s all about making it fit round your life, whether you are a student, working, or enjoying your retirement.

Personal Planner does exactly what it says on the tin. You can choose your size of planner from the four options available (small, medium, large and A5) and then move on through the website to design every part, inside and out. The site is easy to use and guides you through each stage with simple instructions.

Design your cover page, personalised with a pattern, a photo of your own or chose one of the available beautiful designs. Personal Planner bring in a designer to create some unique covers each year. There are choices to appeal to people of every age. You can even choose the colour of the elastic closure.

On the inside choose your header design, select a colour for the ruler that also acts as a bookmark and get started on making your planner work for you.

I chose to start my year in January – I am a traditionalist – with my week spread across two pages. Do you need times, ruled pages, homework reminders or space to jot down a To Do list? Then add it in.

At the back I picked out a year planner – I find it really handy to mark out school holidays across the months that I can see at a glance. There’s room for a selection of papers, plain, lined or graph. There’s even a choice of paper with staff lines for your musical musings.

Finally, you may choose to set up an account and add in your address list or special dates to be pre-printed into your diary – no excuse for forgetting anniversaries now!

It’s a brilliant way of getting the kind of planner that fits your lifestyle. If you want to find out more, take a look at the website or check out the Twitter and Facebook pages for news updates.

  1. something with lots of places for reminders , a bills section , a quick glance section lol i need lots to keep me part way organised !

  2. I’d be able to keep track of all my kids/hubbies/mine appts and activities and have lovely pics to look at all at the same time

  3. Different spaces for general appts, the kids clubs, my teaching hours/assignments and hubbies work schedule. It’s too easy to miss something impt when it’s all scrawled in the same small space.

  4. I love my To Do Lists, so it would have to have plenty of room for those at the back, colourful and bright design that makes filling it in and checking fun sounds perfect. You’re made me really want one now, I love being organised!!

  5. having a to do list makes it good as I always have little lists on the on, and with it being personal havinga photo of my girls on would make it extra special

  6. Having all the important dates filled in already (birthdays, school holidays, etc) to save my wrist the pain of writing it all in myself 😉

  7. I think just having the space to put in all the activities that we’re all doing would be a great help. Ideally though, my planner would tell the rest of my family what they should be doing, so I wouldn’t have to nag them 🙂
